Article I.
Service Description Clause
MedievalHeritage.com (“MedievalHeritage”), is an
online network which provides an informative and communal online environment. MedievalHeritage offers a free limited membership as well as other membership options.
Article II.
Collected Information Clause
Upon registration to the website, MedievalHeritage requests that individuals provide certain
information including, but not limited to, birth date, email address, location and/or zip code.
Additional information may be posted at the user’s discretion via their provided profile, gallery,
journal or through other electronic means. Examples of information that may be voluntarily
relinquished includes, but is not limited to, user’s occupation, user’s level of education, user’s
religious preferences, user’s marital status, user’s real name, etc. Although members retain the
ability and liberty to provide the aforementioned information upon a voluntary basis it is not
required, requested, or recommended.
During the course of normal operations MedievalHeritage automatically tracks certain
information such as IP and email addresses. MedievalHeritage may tie your IP address to user’s
personally identifiable information. However, MedievalHeritage will only display information within
forum message postings, shout box postings or other message areas commensurate with the
desires of the user.
Any and all personal correspondence, i.e., emails or letters, addressed to MedievalHeritage in
any format, including but not limited to electronic correspondence, may be retained and collected
by MedievalHeritage. Additionally, information provided by other users or third parties regarding a
user’s activities or postings on MedievalHeritage may be collected into a file. Both types of
correspondence will only be accessible to authorized personnel or law enforcement personnel
upon request. Information may also be collected from other users’ comments with regards to a
user in MedievalHeritage’s complaints department.
Cookies, a piece of data stored on the user's computer and tied to information about the
user, are used by MedievalHeritage. MedievalHeritage uses session ID cookies, which are cookies that
terminate once a user closes the browser. Some of MedievalHeritage’s business partners use these
cookies (for example, advertisers). However, MedievalHeritage has no access to or control over these
cookies once MedievalHeritage has given permission for advertisers or other designated parties to set
cookies.
Article III.
Information Usage Clause
MedievalHeritage will internally use personally identifiable information from users to: (i)
improve marketing efforts; (ii) statistically analyze site usage; (iii) process member payments
and monetary transactions; (iv) comply with applicable laws, rules, statutes, edicts, ordinances
and customs; (v) to improve MedievalHeritage content and product offerings; and (vi) to customize
MedievalHeritage’s content and layout. MedievalHeritage believes these uses will allow for the
improvement of the site and better tailor the MedievalHeritage online experience to meet user’s needs.
Additionally, MedievalHeritage will use personally identifiable information to: (i) resolve disputes;
(ii) troubleshoot problems; (iii) enforce the MedievalHeritage Terms of Service / Use Agreement; and
(iv) to deliver information that, in some cases, targets user interests (i.e., targeted banners and
promotions).
Article IV.
Disclosure of Information Clause
MedievalHeritage will not sell or rent any personally identifiable information about a user to
any third party. MedievalHeritage will provide said information to cooperate with all law enforcement
and third parties requests in an attempt to uphold laws, regulations, statutes, rules, ordinances,
customs and edicts, to include matters of intellectual property or other rights violations.
Furthermore, all users acknowledge that MedievalHeritage reserves the right to disclose
personally identifiable information as required by law and when it is believed such a disclosure
is necessary to protect MedievalHeritage’s rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court
orders, or legal processes served on MedievalHeritage.
Users may NOT use information from other users for commercial purposes, spam,
harassment, or to make unlawful threats. MedievalHeritage reserves the right to terminate the account
of those who misuse another user’s information or otherwise violate the Terms of Service / Use
Agreement of MedievalHeritage. Additionally, MedievalHeritage reserves the right to contact law
enforcement and share information collected if necessary.
Article V.
Password Policy Clause
Users are precluded from disclosure of their password to any third party in an attempt to
maintain security of personally identifiable information. If, in despite of the foregoing, a user
loses control of their password and subsequently their personally identifiable information the
user acknowledges that they may be subject to legally binding actions taken on the user’s behalf.
If a user believes a password to have been compromised for any reason the user should change
the password immediately.
Article VI.
Personally Identifiable Information Review & Change Clause
After registration a user is able to review and alter most of the user’s personally
identifiable information on MedievalHeritage including:
Email Address
Location
Password
Profile
Gallery
Journal
Users are required to promptly update their information if it changes by logging in to
their account and following the screen prompts. It is strongly recommended that users
periodically change their password to help reduce the risk of unauthorized access to their account
information.
Article VII.
Third Party Collections of Information Notification
The MedievalHeritage policy herein only addresses the use and disclosure of information
MedievalHeritage collects from its users. To the extent that a user discloses their information to other
parties on the MedievalHeritage system or on other sites throughout the Internet different rules may
apply to their use and/or disclosure of disclosed personal information.
Security Clause
MedievalHeritage has security measures in place to protect and prevent the loss, misuse, and
alteration of the information under its control. MedievalHeritage uses industry standard efforts to
safeguard the confidentiality of user’s personal identifiable information such as firewalls.
The user of a forum, personal message system or shout box on MedievalHeritage should be
aware that any personally identifiable information submitted in these formats can be read,
collected, or used by other users and could be used to send unsolicited messages. Once posted, a
user cannot change or remove any publicly posted information made in the shout box or other
message areas. MedievalHeritage accepts no responsibility for the personally identifiable information
which is submitted via the aforementioned mediums. MedievalHeritage retains the right to terminate
accounts of visitors who use these services in a manner inconsistent with MedievalHeritage’s currently
posted Terms of Service / Use Agreement.
Article VIII.
Update/Deletion Clause
MedievalHeritage users have the following choices to modify or delete their information on the
MedievalHeritage database: (i) send an email to onyx@medievalheritage.com; and/or (ii) login to
www.MedievalHeritage.com and modify your profile.
Article IX.Policy Awareness, Notification & Update Clause
MedievalHeritage reserves the right to change or modify this Policy at any time and at its sole
discretion without consent or notification to MedievalHeritage members and/or employees. Changes,
alterations, modifications, and amendments to this Policy are effective immediately upon
posting. Knowledge of and adherence to this Policy is the responsibility of all MedievalHeritage users
and employees. Thus, it is recommended that all users and employees refer back to this page
frequently to verify the Company privacy policies under which they are governed.
